  1 ) Why an add-on wiper arm spring ?

Vision is the most important faculty when driving a vehicle.
Poor cleaning performance in bad weather impairs this faculty.

      2 ) Why would wipers work poorly ?

Wind lift is a well known factor that reduces the pressure on the blade at:

hightway speeds or

when driving against the wind or

when both conditions occur.

Because of design limitations:

The original spring in the wiper arm does not have enough leverage to exert the required pressure on the blade.

The steel of the original spring within the arm is stressed to its limit and cannot generate the required pressure.

The arm does not offer sufficient space to house a bigger or stronger spring.

  3 ) Why do my wipers lift in the wind ?

The wiper and arm act much like an aeroplane wing. Vacuum over them and air
turbulence cause them to lift.
Also the mechanism is not capable of putting enough pressure on the blade.

  4 ) Why the added pressure ?

A wiper blade can be defined as a moving gasket.
If we take a jar gasket for example, when the cover isn't snug enough, the jar will leak.
For a wiper, insufficient pressure will create smears and smudges on the windshield
and affect visibility.

  5 ) What about aerodynamic blades ?

A well designed aerodynamic blade minimally compensates the effects of wind lift but
does not correct the lack of pressure on the wiper.

  6 ) Is SURE WIPE^® safe for the wiper motor ?

Left chart: - In WET conditions the motor effort is the same, with or without SURE WIPE^® springs. This is because the washer fluid, rain or snow on the windshield act as a lubricant for the wipers.
With SURE WIPE^® the wiper motor works in a normal condition.

  7 ) Will the added pressure wear out the blade prematurely ?

There is no added wear and tear on the wiper blade because:

1. The windshield is a non-abrasive smooth surface
2. Rubber is an abrasion-resistant material.
3. Liquids act as lubricant.
4. All abrasive dirt is wiped off.
